Digital totems serve as wayfinding and announcement screens at mall, hospital, university and public building entrances, as promo screens outside shops, and as information points at car parks and fuel stations. Smart bus-stop screens show live route and arrival data for municipalities.
Totems are viewed up close, so P2.5–P5 is used; the typical upright form is 96 × 192 cm. Outdoor totems need 4000–6000 cd/m² and IP65, operating from -30°C to +50°C, with an aluminium body and shatter-resistant polycarbonate front. Content is managed remotely over 4G/LTE or Wi-Fi, and many totems can be scheduled from one place.
